Almost Heaven

In my previous blog, I mentioned that I was asked to create a piece for a silent auction for the Almost Heaven benefit dinner.  My piece was purchased by Jim Eddy, a friend and neighbor.  Jim then informed me the necklace was going to be sent to Hilary Rodham Clinton in the name of the Jefferson County Democratic Women's Association.  I am thrilled!  Keep an eye out - hopefully she will wear it.

A New Year

I am hoping 2009 is a much better year than last.  My sales were off a lot and had it not been for the last two shows in the year, I would have completely been discouraged.  The new year is starting off with a bang.  I've been asked to create a piece for the Almost Heaven Dinner and Silent Auction sponsored by the Jefferson County Democratic Women's Association on January 24th as well as one for the 8th Annual Potter's Bowl sponsored by the Good Shepherd Caregiver's Association in Shepherdstown, WV.  The necklace for the Almost Heaven Dinner has flowers made to look like the state flower for West Virginia which is a rhodedendrum.  Added are lots of fresh water pearls and swarovski crystals.  Not sure what I'm going to do for the Potter's Bowl.  I've started making more inventory for this year which will include more dichroic pendants and more items with lampworked hollow beads.  Please keep checking back for the updated show schedule list.

Wheaton Art Center

My best friend Linda and I went to the Marble Weekend at Wheaton Art Center in Millville, NJ.  We both made our own paperweights (see pictures).  It was so much fun.  There were lots of marble artists there and we saw our friend, Paul Stankard.
